Eat

Our favourite restaurants for eating in Saigon have been tried and tasted many times by none other than us, and we have good taste….

For western foods, the options are great.

Juice on Mac Thi Buoi, D1, has some great salads and smoothies.

Au Parc and Le Creperie are close neighbours in the shadow of the Notre Dame Cathedral. Great food at both.

The Refinery has real classy food. It’s located in a little courtyard just off Hai Ba Trung. Walk past KFC and just opposite the Park Hyatt is an arched entrance. You will see the sign.

For Indian, try The Tandoor on Hai Ba Trung (right next to the not so illustrious KFC). Just opposite KFC on HBT is Pacharan, a Spanish tapas restaurant with a great roof terrace. For French, there are some supberb places such as Le Jardin and Alibi (Thai Van Lung) and La Nicoise and La Forchette (Ngo Duc Ke).

For Vietnamese places, well it’s better you book a Dine, Meet or Cook with us!

Wrap and Roll has become extremely popular with its traditional street food brought into an air-conditioned environment. Find one branch again on Hai Ba Trung, opposite Pacaharan (mentioned above).

Lemongrass is a quaint little Vietnamese place that plays live traditional music every night and has an excellent menu — it’s on Nguyen Thiep, a little side street off Dong Khoi Street opposite the Sheraton Hotel.

A little further down the road on the corner of Mac Thi Buoi and Dong Khoi is Vietnam House, another staple of your average tour groups itinerary.

For Vietnamese pancakes and one of the most popular nightspots for eating in the city, try Banh Xeo, tucked away in a side street off Hai Ba Trung. Find Thanh Dinh church (the big pink one) and opposite that is the street. You’ll easily find the place if your look for the Banh Xeo sign.
